Rohit hit 13 fours and a six in his 99-ball knock. Earlier, Rohit and Rayidu put on a 100-run stand for the third wicket to reach the 200-run mark. Opener Shikhar Dhawan (38 off 40) and captain Virat Kohli (16 off 17) were the other successful Indian bowlers. Dhawan’s Keemo Poll and Kohli’s Kemar Roach were eliminated. Kohli returned with 16 runs in the match after scoring his century in three consecutive matches.
Earlier, Rohit Sharma hit five fours and a six in his 60-ball 60. Rohit added 36 runs for the unbeaten century. Shikhar Dhawanoppath (71) and Amitati Rayudu (109) added 68 runs for the third wicket partnership in the Indian innings.
Rohit Sharma, who made sixes against Kemar Roach in the match, went on to score 195 sixes in the ODI against Sachin Tendulkar. Only Mahendra Singh Dhoni (211) is an Indian in front of Rohit.
Dhoni and Rohit Sharma were the favorites for India’s opening batsmen. Rohit and Dhawan added 71 runs for the opening wicket. Opener Shikhar Dhawan smashed 38 off 37 balls with four boundaries and four fours.
